Church groups hold party for Jesus
This Sunday, a group of Belizeans associated with a number of churches in Belize will be hosting a first of its kind birthday bashment. The party, of course, will be held to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Kent Clare, an organizer of the event, says as we busily go about doing our holiday shopping we should not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Clare invites all Belizeans to an evening of inspiration and joy at the King’s Park Nazarene Church on Princess Margaret Drive.
Kent Clare, Organizer, Birthday Bashment
“This bashment is being developed by a group of persons headed by Mr. Charles McSweeney, who had the vision for this event. A group of individuals from various churches getting together to put this off on the twenty-fifth.”

“Kent, why a birthday bashment?”
Kent Clare
“A birthday bashment because we feel we want to take a literal interpretation of what Christmas should be, which is a birthday celebration for Christ, so it?s something new, but something that should be much appreciated.?

?And what will be taking place at the party??
Kent Clare
?There?s going to be a mixture of drama and dance and music. Very, very festive and very colourful, well choreographed and I think people will be very interested to see this.”
The celebration gets underway at 8:00 p.m. Entrance is free, but contributions will be greatly appreciated. Money collected will go towards a children’s organization.
