Belize now full member in SICA
Belize has officially become a full member of the Central American Integration System, SICA. At a brief ceremony earlier this month at SICA headquarters in El Salvador, Belize was welcomed into the organisation, at which it previously had only observer status. The other members of SICA include Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama. The Dominican Republic attends meetings as an observer. The regional body coordinates policy between members and targets poverty alleviation, social, cultural, economic, political and environmental development.
