Blue Creek businessman jacked in city

Story Picture
One man is fifteen thousand dollars short while the other is on the run. Police are asking you to assist them in finding twenty-seven year old Melvin Sebastian Nunez, better known as “Sabe” of Lovely Lane in Belize City, in connection with a robbery on Friday in the city. Blue Creek businessman David Weiber told police that he was driving a truck loaded with fertilizer on Barrack Road around 7:45 p.m. when a man told him that a passer-by hopped his vehicle and threw out two bags of fertilizer. With assistance from the informant Weiber found one of the bags and as a gesture of gratitude offered him a two-dollar reward. Unsatisfied with the donation, an argument ensued. In the heat of the moment the ungrateful informant snatched fifteen thousand in cash and cheques from Weiber’s shirt pocket, belonging to Circle “R” products.
