Continental sponsors “Toys for Tots?
There are many different ways to celebrate the joy of Christmas and the employees of one of the nation’s most important air carriers have found their own special niche. I joined them–and some friends–this afternoon.

With their planes to Belize running near capacity and corporate profits solidly in the block, employees Continental Airlines have a lot to be thankful for. And they’re spreading their good cheer by raising funds to give some special children a very merry Christmas.

“Well during the entire year as a staff we raise funds, we have raffles, we have little sales, we ask for donations at all our different cooperate accounts and that’s how we go about raising money for this event.”
Toys For Tots started three years ago. The programme is the brainchild of the United States Military, dating back to the 1950’s… And since introduced in Belize, the event has been well attended and enjoyed by the children who are invited. This year, Ozzie the Clown was back at the House of Culture working his usual entertainment magic.
But what would a Christmas party be without a visit from Santa Claus? The children did not hesitate to tell Santa that they have all been good little boys and girls and quickly lined up to receive their gifts.

“We so feel good. We just look forward getting prepared from the beginning of December getting all the toys together doing all the running about shopping and getting all the kids. Really working together as a team and we feel good because we can do something for the children of Belize.”
This year a total of seventy-five children, recommended by school principals, attended the Toys for Tots party.
