No conclusion yet in tourist death
The post mortem conducted today on a tourist who was found dead on Monday has not yet pinpointed the cause of death. The body of thirty-one year old Christian McCathern was discovered by a hotel housekeeper in his bathtub at a Placencia resort, locked in the arms of his wife Courtney, who was found unconscious. Dr. Mario Estradabran told News 5 this evening that he could not conclusively determine the cause of death until the results of tests are received, perhaps next week. Foul play is not considered likely. The couple went SCUBA diving on Sunday and while compression sickness has not been ruled out there is strong suspicion that drugs may have been involved. On Tuesday night Courtney McCathern, still unconscious, was flown to the USA for further treatment. She had been placed inside the decompression chamber at San Pedro as a precaution for possible dive related injuries. Reports are that her condition was somewhat improved and she had opened her eyes on several occasions.
