Jane Usher Resident is Stabbed Multiple Times during Home Invasion
On the crime blotter, there was a home invasion on Wednesday night in the Jane Usher Boulevard area of Belize City. Donald Enrique Nunez Garcia was inside his house when a man entered and attacked him. Garcia received multiple stab wounds to the body and was left for dead as his common-law wife slept in the room. His attacker then escaped through the front door. Garcia was later discovered by his common-law wife, who rushed him to the Belize Medical Associates where he remains in a stable condition. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero gave the preliminary details on the crime, but says that investigators are ruling out robbery as a possible motive.
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Around 7:50 p.m., police visited the Belize Medical Associates where they found Donald Garcia, forty-eight years, with stab wounds to the body. Investigation revealed that Donald Garcia was at an address on Jane Usher Boulevard and his door was open when a dark-skinned male person entered the house and inflicted the stab wounds to him. He alerted his wife to the incident and she took him to the Belize Medical Associates for treatment. He is there in a stable condition. We are seeking one suspect in regards to this investigation.”
