Man arrested for Blake-Ayuso murder
Police have made an arrest in the murder of Therese Blake Ayuso. Last week we reported that a prime suspect in the murder had shaved off all the hair on his head and face including eyebrows after he was slated to appear before an I.D parade the following day. The man, now identified as twenty-six year old Ornel Welcome Junior of a Casarina Street address, had allegedly gotten a razor from a police officer who was on duty that night. As a result of the incident six officers have been interdicted from duty pending the outcome of investigations. Welcome, who could not be identified in the parade was released. However, police inform the media late this evening that Welcome, who has since grown back some hair, was this morning taken into custody and put before another I.D. parade. As a result of the exercise, he was arrested and charged with the murder of Blake-Ayuso. Welcome has since been remanded and is now at the Hattieville Prison. In related news, Police Corporal Rodwell “Tiger” Richards and Ernest Kemp, who have been charged with both abetment and conspiracy to murder in the Blake-Ayuso case, reappeared in Magistrate?s Court on November fourteenth. However, the case was adjourned until December twenty-first. Both Richards and Kemp are on remand at the Youth Enhancement Academy in Ladyville.
