Accident on Western Highway, no casualties

Two persons are lucky to be alive after the vehicles they were traveling in collided on the Western Highway. The accident happened around ten-thirty Tuesday night. According to reports, forty-eight year old Inez Gomez was driving a freight truck from Belize City to Benque Viejo Del Carmen. When it reached in the vicinity of Central Farm in the Cayo District, it collided into a Toyota van, which was traveling in the same direction. Gomez, who was not badly injured, told police he tried to swerve his vehicle when he saw the van, but could not get out of the way in time. Twenty-four year old Nelson Milan, who was driving the van, is reported to have received only minor injuries.
