Men charged with Blake murder petition for bail
Police corporal Rodwell Richards better known as “Tiger” and Ernest Kemp are still on remand at the Hattieville prison after being formally charged with abetment to murder and conspiracy to abet the crime of murder in the case of Therese Blake Ayuso. Both men were denied bail after appearing before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord in Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning. Following their appearance, Simeon Sampson and Michel Chebat, attorneys for Richards and Kemp, lodged a petition for bail in the Supreme Court and are presently awaiting the date for the application to be heard. Richards who has served in the police department for eleven years continues to receive half pay from the department. On November fourteenth both Richards and Kemp are scheduled to reappear in Magistrate’s Court.
