Cayo Doc Criminally Charged!

Doctor Fausto Alvin Pineda of Benque Viejo del Carmen was arrested and charged for ‘Engaging in Private Practice While Prohibited from Doing So. Doctor Pineda works at the San Ignacio Community Hospital but he also runs a private practice in the west.  Pineda reportedly issued three sick leave forms to police officers through his home clinic. As you’ll recall a regulation was passed were doctors in the public health service must not be operating from in the private sector at the same time during the S.O.E.  Now, that is what Pineda is accused of doing because he is also working out of the community hospital in San Ignacio.  Today, Pineda appeared in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court, but pleaded not guilty. He was released on bail.
