Guillermo Foreman Remains at Northern Border
Belmopan resident Guillermo Foreman remains stuck at the northern border. He has been there since Friday after he made his way from the United States through Mexico. He was in Texas and decided to drive to Belize after he realized that he was running out of funds. He says that he had no idea that the State of Emergency had been extended for another sixty days so it is illegal for him to enter Belize and if he does, he will be put in jail. He says that he is force to sleep in his car because Belizean authorities have ignored him and his pleas. He is currently sleeping in his car and asking cargo truck drivers to buy him food. Foreman says he tested negative for the novel coronavirus in the U.S. and is willing to undergo testing here in Belize and agrees to a quarantine plan but so far his cries have gone unanswered.
