CXCs to be Taken in Early July
High school students across the region, including Belize, will sit the annual CSEC exams at the beginning of July and will now only have a little over six weeks to finish preparing for those papers. While there was some concern about the administration of the tests, Minister of Education Patrick Faber says that the issue of teachers and the submission of School-based Assessments also came up in light of the countrywide state of emergency.

“In short, students will now have just the month of May, the remaining days, and also the month of June to prepare and get back on track. This is why we said all along that these exams were not cancelled, you know, we didn’t want people to become complacent and not study and this is why we went to great pains to say hey, this is still on. We’re still negotiating, we’re still giving Belize’s input, this is now the position and we want people to prepare and prepare well for the exams come the start of July and going forward.”
