Where is Your Mask, PM?
As you heard, not adhering to the use of the mask is getting people in plenty of trouble with the law. In a light moment during the Prime Minister’s virtual press conference on Thursday, he was reminded of this regulation. The PM explained why he was not using one.

“I notice that you don’t have on the mask again. Is there any relaxing of that measure?”
Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Yes, that everybody will be asked going forward to be wearing the mask in public and so on.”
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“So I came to the office and had to be in public with my mask I took off my mask for purposes of speaking to you because it is a little bit of a hindrance and everybody else in the room has on a mask. So please don’t misinterpret the fact that I am not wearing. It is just that I am protected since everybody else is wearing one and I certainly once I leave the building and I am going out into the open I will be always wear my mask unless that particular requirement changes. And that requirement has not changed. You can go swim but you wear your mask when you are on your way to wherever you are going. When you get there of course you can’t swim with your mask. Generally wearing your mask in public, that measure has not been relaxed.”
Now in a discussion with the media today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams stated, “If the PM was alone in the room from which he did the virtual press conference then he would not be in violation.” But it is known, that some five other persons were inside the room during the virtual press conference. We note that these persons were wearing face masks.
