PC Rodriguez Says Dispute is Personal, Over Land in Camalote

Krista Zelaya

According to Rodriguez’s wife, Krista Zelaya, the dispute between both parties is personal. She says that Gamboa has reportedly been developing her land, which was passed down from her father.  Zelaya contends that the land belongs to her and that caused the escalation of the feud.

“One day I am at work, my mother called me over the net and she informed me that I need to go talk to the people that are working on the land. She said the next land for you father. She got information from the villagers that Aron Gamboa is working on the land. I asked her why will you put me in that position to deal with this land, because you are the older one, you are the rightful one to deal with it and it is you that you will get the administrator to deal with the lands.  I said okay, I am going. When I came off from work I still did not want to go but my common-law told me that it does not make sense to go deal with that because you will put yourself in thing. And it was true. If I had only listened I would not have went but I wasn’t going to let my father’s land go like that. I went kind as I can to Mister Gamboa’s house, one block away from me. I found his wife home. I spoke to Miss Sherlette. So I said Sherlette Gamboa, I came to talk to you about my land, I hear you are working on my father’s land but you know that land belongs to my father. You can’t be working on it. Then she said no, in an innocent baby voice, no my father gave me that from when I was a baby. I said Miss Sherlette two big women are talking here. That land belongs to my father because I have papers for that land.  I got pictures how Gamboa throw two loads of white sand, knocked down my father’s foundation. All kind of thing this policeman is doing. When he done now, I didn’t make any noise. I already talked to them nice and thing. Two days after he came and say, my father in law wants to see you. Mister Gamboa you know I no go anywhere out of my house. I live here tell your father in law if he wants to see to come here. When it done, when I told Gamboa that and I told him that I went to Lands and I am asking you please stop work on the land. Wait for us to see what will happen and let us get to the bottom of this. ‘You liar.’ Who is ‘F’ is you to tell me that I lie. I had to curse him because you don’t come to disrespect me in my land. He came way in my yard and call me a liar. He said I am cursing him, because you are disrespecting me. Then when he reversed, he said that this is not done yet and he left and this is not done yet. Watch what he did.”
