Chinese Natl charged with possession of cannabis/ammo
Chinese national are often in the news as targets of crimes, but today, thirty-eight year old Jin Zhong Wang of Ladyville was in the dock. Wang appeared in Magistrates’ Court to answer to charges for the Possession of two grams of cannabis and Keeping a Greater Number of Ammunition than the amount specified in his license. Wang’s attorney, Kevin Arthurs, argued that his client was only found in possession of eighty-four rounds, less than the permitted one hundred rounds per license and should have not been charged. However, Magistrate Albert Hoare said that the submission should be made to the Supreme Court upon application of bail and he remanded Wang into custody until May sixth. The incident occurred on Thursday when a police search at Wang’s store led to the discovery of the cannabis and the ammunition.
