Mexican Defence Minister visits on Friday
A number of foreign countries were represented at Tuesday night’s ceremony and many more diplomats arrived today to help celebrate Belize’s independence. One special visitor who will not arrive until Friday is Mexico’s Minister of Defence, General Enrique Cervantes, who will be hosted by Belize’s Minister of National Security, Jorge Espat. The aim of the visit is to strengthen ties between the two military forces. While here Cervantes will call on the Governor General and tour the University of Belize as well as BDF headquarters in Ladyville.
