Slamming Bodies win dance contest
The National Dance Contest held Friday night may not have been widely advertised or heavily attended, but the participants were not lacking in enthusiasm. When the feet stopped moving, the dance group Slamming Bodies was crowned as winners.
In related news, the Belize City Centre is the venue tonight for the Belize Song Contest. Eleven entrants will be participating including the Young Artists Association, Mr. Peters, Santino’s Messengers, Ugurau, World Culture Band, Brother David, Kenny Morgan, The Playaz and Punta Rebels. Top prize is $5,000 and the winning song must be an original composition not commercially released between September 1989 and September 1999. The jamming gets underway at 7:30.
