2 years for unlicensed gun and ammo
Also in Magistrates’ Court, twenty-four year old Harold Mutrie pleaded guilty to Possession of Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition and was sentenced to two years in prison. Mutrie was one of five persons charged with keeping a glock nine millimeter pistol and fifteen rounds. While the charges against the other defendants were withdrawn, they were not freed because they also face charges of the robbery of All in One Supermarket in Sand Hill Village. The incident occurred shortly after three on Tuesday afternoon. The owner of the supermarket reported to police that two persons entered the business and one of them pointed a gun at her and demanded money. She said the culprits stole over seven hundred dollars and an assortment of phone cards worth over two thousand five hundred dollars. The proprietor told police they also stole two cell phones and a Belize Bank cheque for a hundred and fifty-six dollars. Shortly after the robbery the police on mobile patrol saw a green Explorer parked in a feeder road in Sand Hill. Police say that when they searched the Explorer they found the stolen items along with the loaded pistol.
