Four receive British post-grad scholarships
The British High Commission has announced the names of those Belizeans who have been awarded postgraduate university scholarships. New Five’s Janelle Chanona will leave September 7th to pursue a masters degree in investigative journalism at Nottingham Trent University. Crown Council in the Attorney General’s Ministry, Godwin Arzu, will leave on September 19th to study international business law at the University of Hull. UB associate lecturer Alfred Serrano will seek a masters in education at the University of Reading and the Ministry of National Security’s Tessa Matus will work toward a masters of science degree in international relations at Bristol University. They both depart on September 28th. All the scholarships include full room, board, books and a one-year course of study. They have been granted under the Chevening Programme, which seeks to identify potential leaders from Commonwealth nations for advanced professional training in the United Kingdom.
