Declaration signed by Meso-American countries
Today, the Fourth Tuxla Summit came to a close in Guatemala City. The meeting attended by Prime Minister Said Musa included the Presidents of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico Nicaragua and the first Vice president of Panama. As a result of the discussions, a Joint Declaration was signed that reflects the progress made jointly by the countries of Meso-America and calls for a further strengthening of relations between these countries. A special appeal was made in the Joint Declaration to the organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC to take into consideration the economic plight of developing countries, brought on by the high price of oil.
