Telemedia’s 2009 directory released

Story PictureThe 2009 Telemedia directory is hot off the press and this year the book has been enhanced with new features. It is user friendly and carries a cultural theme dedicated to foods in Belize. Aside from telephone information, the directory also contains recipes from the country’s different ethnicities and general data about the jewel including a listing of the national holidays. The attractive cover showcases a painting, “Meh Hand Full”, by artist Carolyn Carr which illustrates the struggles Belizean women face in taking care of their children. When we spoke to Telemedia’s Directory Services Manager, Suzette Tillett, at the launch today, she told us that this year’s edition tops all the others.

Suzette Tillett, Directory Services Manager
“We have a theme called “Cultural Foods in Belize” which covers some of our main cultures and the types of foods that they eat. You can find on the front of the book in the information section, different recipes from these cultures, different things that you can learn about their food. We have all the information about the country for visitors visiting. We have added a kiddies page for kids. We have added a hurricane page where you can track a hurricane. We’ve also upgraded the cover and we’ve also upgraded the paper for the book so you’ll find that this year the book is much thicker, all the ads in the yellow pages are more vibrant and more bright. Overall, we have made a lot of improvements with the book this year.”

“And all of these features are included in the mini directory as well?”

Suzette Tillett
“Yes, they’re all included in the mini-directory, which will be available for post-paid customers. We like to call it our mobile directory and all of these contents of the book you can also find on the web; Belize web and it’s featured in our e-directory.”

Delahnie Bain
“How did you choose the cover art?”

Suzette Tillett
“Each year we go through a number of selections to find the most vibrant cover and this year we selected Miss Carr because the painting that she portrays, “Meh Hand Full”, is a part of the theme that we decided to portray so all the things have tied in together.”

The directories are now available at any of Telemedia’s customer service centers countrywide.
