Chang Says it is Not Political, it’s Business
The letter has been released within weeks of the July leadership convention of the U.D.P. where Darrell Bradley is seeking to be leader. Political pundits believe that the timing of letter is to smear former Mayor Darrel Bradley, who is running against Wilfred Elrington, John Saldivar and Patrick Faber. Lee Mark Chang is known to be a supporter of Faber. But in an interview with the media today, Chang says that this is not personal or political; this is simply business.
Lee Mark Chang, Proprietor, Chon Saan Palace
“I’ve made requests to try and collect the bills. Even as the city council got into power. For me business is not personal you know. Business is business. Even my political career is not personal to me. The only thing personal to me is my family and my kids. I could have demanded cash, but I said, give them some flexibility. Make I noh hold on to dehn and have to collect cash because if I am to collect my trade off it would be next year March, end of March, when it is due. I di lose interest on that eighteen thousand dollars right there. As a businessman, you have to and dollars and cents. I am open for anything as a businessman; nothing personal, just business.”

“What’s your opinion about this City Council’s possible perspective that they did not incur the bill so the bill is in fact not their responsibility?”
Lee Mark Chang
“The thing is that I noh want try get personal or anything. Every year, I pay my property tax. So you wah tell me if P.U.P. come in, I noh pay my property tax? It is the same concept. We have to pay wi taxes no matter which government comes into power, which city council comes into power. We have to pay our taxes, we have to pay our property tax, we have to pay our trade license – everything. We have to pay to put up wi sign, the billboards – yo have to pay fu everything. So if P.U.P. come in ah noh pay fi it? If U.D.P. deh in, I still pay for it; P.U.P. come in, I still pay for it. Business has to flow no matter which government is in power.”
