Second Cop Charged in Fraudulent Firearm Licenses
A second cop is named and charged in the fraudulent gun documents at the Belmopan Police Headquarters. He is Corporal Donald Pinelo and he was slapped with six counts of forgery when he appeared in court today in Belmopan. He too was released on bail. Pinelo is the second cop to be name in the scam; on Wednesday, Corporal Oscar Itch was arraigned for ten counts of forgery. The allegation is that Itch sold less than thirty licenses for three thousand dollars each. Here’s more from the police.

“In reference to the investigation regarding the forged firearm licenses the investigation was conducted and we have since arrested and charged Corporal Oscar Itch and Corporal Donald Pinelo for various counts of forgery of official documents. They are both attached to the firearms clerk section at Belmopan Headquarters. We have since recovered thirty four firearms from various persons in the country in regards to this investigation.”

“The detention and charge of Corporal Oscar Itch who was charged with ten counts of forging an official document; that investigation also led to the detention of Corporal Donald Pinelo who is also attached to the Belmopan Headquarters in Belmopan yesterday evening. He was charged today with six counts of forging an official document and he was taken before the court and granted bail. The PSB is also investigating this matter. At the conclusion of this investigation we will be looking at all the evidence gathered and upon viewing those evidence we will be preparing appropriate internal disciplinary charges against these officers and any other officers if that should be the case.”
