Scotia Bank Belize Donates P.P.E.s to Belize Police Department
Scotia Bank Belize has made a donation today; it handed over five thousand dollars to be used for personal protective equipment to the Belize Police Department. The protective face shields will be procured through the Rotary Club of Belize and distributed to police officers. The donation comes as the country prepares for the phased reopening for tourism and other areas of the economy amid the global COVID-19 crisis. The check was handed over by Scotia Bank’s Managing Director Sarah Hobbs who said, “The impact of COVID-19 cannot be ignored or taken lightly and despite this, the men and women of the Belize Police Department continue to work tirelessly to keep us safe.” The Rotary Club of Belize was represented by President Mike Kelly while the police department was represented by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dezerie Magdaleno who said, “this is a very timely donation particularly as we prepare to welcome visitors back to our shores and support the reopening of business in Belize.”
