ISF cop charged with rape placed on interdiction
In Thursday’s newscast we told you about Police Constable Nelson Ramos of the Intermediate Southern Formation who was arraigned on a count of rape of a seventeen-year-old girl. Today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told the press that only one police officer was named and charged. He notes that the cop has been placed on interdiction.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“That matter has been investigated and one officer PC Nelson Ramos has been charged for the crime of rape; not two, so please let us get the record straight where that is concerned.”
Andrea Polanco
“Sir, has he been placed on interdiction?”
Chester Williams
“Yes, he has been placed on interdiction.”
On July sixth, the minor was intercepted and taken into custody for driving without a valid driver’s license. She alleged that Ramos asked her if she had anything to offer so that she would avoid traffic related charges. She was then reportedly taken to Savannah Road where the officer forced her into a sexual act.
