Weed fields busted in Toledo, Orange Walk
Police conducted two successful anti-drug operations over the weekend that resulted in the destruction of nearly five thousand marijuana plants. On Saturday , the police ventured seven miles northwest of San Pedro Columbia Village, in the Toledo District. The mission started at 8:00 a.m. and by 3:30 p.m. they found and destroyed a marijuana plantation containing four hundred and sixty-seven plants measuring two and a half feet to seven feet in height. The following day police in Orange Walk improved on the previous day’s work by busting another weed patch containing approximately four thousand, five hundred plants. That raid three miles north of Yo Creek Village also yielded twenty-five pounds of compressed marijuana and an equal amount of seeds. No arrests were made in either incident and the drugs were burned.
