A Back-to-School Drive for Belmopan Students!
A Belmopan resident is asking for the public’s support with her annual back to school drive. About four years ago Rocio Quiroz says that she started a grassroots initiative to assist underprivileged students in Belmopan and surrounding villages with the basic school items. This year, Quiroz is asking for support towards her initiative which aims to provide upwards of three hundred school bags with school supplies. Today she told us more about this effort.
Rocio Quiroz, Organizer, Back-to-School Drive
“I have been doing this with the help of family and friends and this year more than ever I want to make a call out to the public and those kind hearted people who would like to join forces with me to help me out.”
Andrea Polanco
“Now, what are some of the items you are looking for?”
Rocio Quiroz
“Mainly, I would ask for a back pack and some of the main school supplies such as exercise books, rulers, crayons; whatever they can help me out with. Now more than ever, due to this pandemic things are really hard out there and many of the parents cannot afford to buy those things for their child.”
