Shyne Barrow Loses Cool over Amy Thomas’ Allegations
The U.D.P. standard bearer for Mesopotamia, Shyne Barrow this morning got hot under the collar when reporters asked him to respond to the allegations made by Amy Thomas. Thomas, a U.S. citizen, is alleging that Barrow never accounted for seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars that she gave him as a donation towards a resource centre. In a long Facebook post, Thomas details the chain of events which Barrow refutes, lodging a civil suit against Thomas for defamation. Barrow also obtained an affidavit from the landlord which owns the building where the resource centre is on Amara Avenue. Thomas, however, has taken her claim to the U.S. court, filing a civil suit in the New York Eastern District Court. Thomas is suing Barrow and Omni Hybrid Holdings LLC, which Barrow says he has no shares in, and is seeking damages under the Federal Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act. At an event this morning, a defensive Barrow was asked for comment.
Shyne Barrow, U.D.P. Standard Bearer, Mesopotamia
“I can say what I want; she can say what she wants. I have an affidavit from the landlady to support my position. That is why I have taken out a defamation case against, case number three-four-two in the Supreme Court filed by Mister Elrington. You can have an audience with him if you please.”
Reporter
“But she…”
Shyne Barrow
“But again Sir, are you now pretending to be her advocate. She says, I am saying.”
Reporter
“I know from the documents I’ve seen on this particular issue where…”
Shyne Barrow
“Did you see my documents?”
Reporter
“I haven’t.”
Shyne Barrow
“So could we wait until then?”
Reporter
“But wait, but specifically about the receipts.”
Shyne Barrow
“…because you are coming across right now as an advocate.”
Reporter
“I am simply asking an honest question. I have no intention in this.”
Shyne Barrow
“Okay, go ahead.”
Reporter
“The receipts that you’ve produced and the affidavit from the landlady she is saying that those are simply made up to try to cover your tracks.”
Shyne Barrow
“Of course she will say that and what will I say? They are not. And then who will determine it? A court of law. For you to tell me what she is saying is just perpetrating what she said and I said. It is I said, she said. So who will determine it? A court of law? By you saying that she said that you are giving credibility to a very outrageous, slanderous accusation.”
Reporter
“I am simply asking one question.”
Shyne Barrow
“She can say anything but why perpetuate that? Di you try to find the person that signed the affidavit? I am asking you a question.”
Reporter
“All I have seen…”
Shyne Barrow
“Why don’t you want to answer the question?”
Reporter
“I just saw the document today, sir.”
Shyne Barrow
“Well then you should wait.”
Reporter
“All I am simply asking you, this is what she said…”
Shyne Barrow
“Yes, but think I have answered you question but you should do your research. Because then it is just a back and forth.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Yes and I am saying that that affidavit becomes worthy if the trial judge enters it or allows it into evidence.”
Shyne Barrow
“Sir, right now you haven’t received any from any court other than documents being filed but that has not prevented you from blasting these accusations that are being made.”
Hipolito Novelo
“But do you worry sir that she had lodged that suit against yourself in the New York Eastern District Court under the Federal Racketeer Influence and Corruption Organizations Act? Does it worry?”
Shyne Barrow
“How could that worry me when I am suing her for defamation because everything she is saying about lies? I am not worried about lies.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Do you have shares in that company, Omni Hybrid Holdings?”
Shyne Barrow
“Absolutely not. No I don’t.”
