Will the Decision of the Court be Appealed?
Back in December 2019, when the five men were found guilty of the beheading of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas, it was indicated that an appeal would be filed. Norman Rodriguez, attorney for Ashton Vanegas, told the media today that he awaits instructions from his client on how to proceed.

“There will always be grounds for appeal. Remember there are two aspects to the appeal. It can be on the conviction or it can be on the sentencing. And even if she decides that she is going to give a fixed term, that does not mean that the convicted person will agree that the fixed term given before being eligible for parole is just in his mind. The judge does what she has to do and the process continues if the person believes that well I believe that I should have gotten a lesser term.”
