Jervis Valencia is Freed of Murder
Also in the court this week, Jervis Valencia was freed for a second time of a murder charge. Valencia was charged with the murder of Moses Gonguez in 2015 on mayflower Street, Belize City. Gonguez was with a group men when he came under attack; another person, Triston Gordon was also injured in the shooting. But in court, one of the witnesses changed his narrative, saying that he did not see Valencia commit the crime. The trial Judge, Colin Williams also found difficulties relating to the expended shells found at the scene, so Valencia was freed. Valencia was also injured in an exchange of gunfire with police on the night of Gonguez’s murder and was taken from the K.H.M.H. to the court for arraignment. Tonight, he is a free man.
