PM Supports Private Flights for Certain Purposes

According to Prime Minister Dean Barrow a decision will be made next week whether private flights will be allowed to continue to enter and exit the country during the pandemic.

“Decision will be made on Monday by the national oversight committee to be ratified by the cabinet on Tuesday. I will say again, I know that there was some degree of protest in terms of people on social media. But I will tell you what my personal position. I support the permission being given to private flights for persons who own second homes in Belize; for persons that have ongoing businesses in Belize that need to come and look after their investments. Remember you can’t just get on a private flight and come willy-nilly there are safeguards.”
