188 Persons Arrested under S.O.E. Regulations!
Police arrested and charged close to two hundred persons for breach of the State of Emergency regulations over the weekend. From our records, it appears to be the largest number of persons charged under the S.O.E. Commissioner Chester Williams says the one hundred and eighty-eight persons didn’t adhere to social distancing; curfew and face mask regulations.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“We had just over one hundred and eighty persons arrested under the S.O.E. regulations. Majority of those persons were charged with failure to wear a mouth and nose covering. I think there were one hundred and twenty-eight of those. The second most arrests were in relation to curfew, persons who breached the curfew. We continue to see breaches of the regulations by some factions of our society and as a department we continue to see what we can do to get the people to comply with the S.O.E. After all, we believe that it was put in place to safeguard each and every one of us in our country.”

“Could it have been that persons were caught off guard by the regulations being put in place early Sunday morning and then by Sunday night eight p.m. people had to adhere to it?”
Chester Williams
“I don’t think so. We just have some people in our society who don’t care and they do as they feel and at the end of the day when they are caught by the police they will feel the consequence of their action.”
