A Santa Elena woman is shot three times
A twenty-six-year-old woman of Santa Elena Town is fortunate to be alive tonight after a gunman fired several shots at her home. Debbidee Clarke reports that around seven-thirty on Sunday night she heard a loud noise in her house and when she realized the sound was from gunshots being fired she ran to get her children to safety. Clarke was hit three times in her left arm. Police recovered nine expended shells from the scene. A surveillance camera in the area captured the moment the shooter drove by on a motorcycle and fired the shots. A.C.P. Joseph Myvett tells us more:
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“San Ignacio Police were called to Carillo Puerto Avenue in San Ignacio where they met one Debbie-Dee Clarke, a resident of that said street, who reported to police that shortly before the report was made a male person on a motorcycle rode by and fired several shots in her house during which she was injured by some of those gun shots. At this point in time, the police are investigating. We do not have a clear motive at this time. However, we were told and haven’t yet been able to confirm that a known George Street gang figure was frequenting the home for the better part of yesterday’s date.”
