Musa meets with Blair, Pope
Prime Minister Said Musa has met with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. During the meeting, which took place Saturday at Number 10 Downing Street, Musa sought the UK government’s support for Belize in our dispute with Guatemala. To that end Belize’s P.M. reported on his satisfaction with the presence of the British Army Training Support Unit in Belize and welcomed its expansion. Blair promised that he would soon review Belize’s needs with his Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary Robin Cook. Musa also met with British Defence Secretary Geoffrey Hoon before departing for Rome on Sunday. Today he had an audience with Pope John Paul the Second at the Vatican.
