Suspects held in two murders

An argument on Thursday afternoon between two car washers has left one young man dead. According to a witness interviewed by News Five, Leroy McKoy and another young man were arguing near the Triple J dock on Southern Foreshore. The witness says he does not know what the argument was about but the two men parted without getting physical. However, as McKoy bent down to wash a pickup truck the young man picked up a 2×4 and whopped McKoy in the back of the head. McKoy was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but died there on Saturday afternoon. Police say because they have only detained the young man, they cannot release his name at this time. But it is expected that he will be charged for the crime on Tuesday. Meanwhile Dangriga police have made an arrest in another argument that also ended in death. 22-year old James Anthony Moreira has been charged with the murder of 17-year old Jason Zuniga. Investigations have revealed that on Saturday morning the 2 young men, who are from Dangriga, were hanging out on Roquillo Street in that town when they started arguing. It is alleged that Moreira took out a knife and stabbed Zuniga to the left side of his body. Although Zuniga was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. According to police press officer Christy Castillo, the argument started after one of the men called the other a name. Moreira has been remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
