Minister Martinez Says National Security Minister Should Have List of COVID-19 Patients
Last week, the matter of the controversial S.I. 134 caused consternation with the Ministry of Heath because it criminalizes the DHS if he does not provide confidential information on COVID patients to the Minister of National Security. There was overwhelming response that such information should not land in police hands. But Minister Anthony Martinez says that the Minister of National Security should be provided with the list of COVID-19 patients so that better policing can be carried out. He says that this will effectively deal with the problem of community spread. But Doctor Marvin Manzanero is not onboard with the idea of releasing confidential information to Michael Peyrefitte. So much so that the S.I. will be revised, but Martinez says that it is “simple and easy” – give the National Security Minister the list of COVID-19 patients so that they are monitored and prevented from spreading the disease.

“Yes well I believe so because if you, in my humble opinion, COVID is nothing for anyone to scorn and shame. We have to real. We have to have rules too. Because what happens if you are a COVID patients and a lot of people are spreading this thing because people don’t know they have COVID and so and the authorities don’t know. So if the authorities don’t know how will they police you to deal with quarantine. It is simple. It is an unusual time so I don’t have a difficulty with it. And unusual times warrant unusual things. For me the cases are rising and a lot of the cases and rises for the same fact. Even the Ministry of National Security doesn’t know who all have it and by not know who all has it and the Ministry of Health do not disclosed it at least to the Ministry of National Security then you have people who are spreading those things because they don’t abide by the rules. It is simple and easy.”
