Four men charged with kidnapping
In an update to a story we first reported on Wednesday regarding a police raid at a home on West Collet Canal, tonight four men who were detained following the search have been charged. On Tuesday night police went to #51 West Collet Canal and detained 27-year old Sidney Ellis, his brother 33-year old Richard Ellis, 20-year old Alvin Gonzalez and a 16-year old. Police were looking for the key to Sidney Ellis’ green 1999 Ford Expedition. Police wanted to search the vehicle after Lloyd King had reported that he was walking in the Vista Del Mar area when a green Expedition pulled along side him. King says the men in the car asked him about a gun and when he denied any knowledge about a firearm, he was ordered into the car, taken to a feeder road off the Bermudian Landing Road and beaten with a metal pipe. King says he managed to escape his attackers by jumping into the river. As part of their investigations, police held an I.D. parade and the forensic team analyzed blood found on the side of Ellis’ Expedition. The four men have been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and common assault.
