Belizeans and Guatemalan Busted with Heroin
Police have made a bust of a highly addictive illegal drug. Three Belizeans and a Guatemalan on Tuesday were busted with close to eight pounds of heroin which is not a drug commonly peddled in Belize and was likely being moved through the country. The men were in a Ford Ranger pickup truck parked at a gas station in Belmopan when they were approached by police officers who conducted a search of the vehicle. The search led to the discovery of a knapsack that was hidden under the spare tire. Inside the knapsack were two parcels of heroin weighing seven point eight pounds. Forty-two-year-old Guatemalan Jaime Galvez and Belizeans twenty-two-year-old Wilson Morales, thirty-six-year-old Leeson Evelyn and forty-seven-year-old Jerry Pelayo were escorted to the police charged and expected to be criminally charged with possession of controlled drugs with the intent to supply to another.
