Two escaped cons still on the loose
Two of the four prisoners who made a bid for their freedom early Friday morning are tonight back behind bars. 27-year old Michael Woods was recaptured by officers of the Patrol Branch on Friday afternoon in the Pine Street area. When the police officers found Woods, he was suffering from gunshot wounds to his right thigh. Woods told police he had been shot while running on the Boom Road but didn’t know whom the shooter was. Viewers may recall that KBH security officers did manage to get off a few shots at the prisoners as they disappeared into the night. Woods was taken to the KHMH for treatment and later escorted back to Hattieville by prison officials. Meanwhile 23-year old habitual fugitive Frank Castro was caught by members of the Dragon Unit on Saturday night near Conch Shell Bay in Belize City. It is believed Castro came along peacefully. That leaves 20-year old Samuel Reyes and 23-year old Wesley Emmanuel, each serving 5-year sentences at Hattieville, still at large. The pair have eluded police and prison authorities for four days now despite numerous roadblocks on major highways and extensive searches. The four men had cut through the iron bars on an upstairs window in their cellblock and jumped over the fence to freedom. If you have any information on the whereabouts of either Reyes or Emmanuel, please contact the nearest police station.
