B.P.P. Condemns Domestic Violence
In the wake of the murder of Gonzalez over the weekend, the Belize Progressive Party has also issued a release condemning the act of domestic violence, in this case, against women.
Patrick Rogers, Party Leader, B.P.P.
“The truth is that we just, the respect of our sistren has reached a low. The crimes have gotten more heinous but the truth is that when we don’t learn to respect our females we’ve lost it all. All ah we come from women and the disrespect of women is something that we at the B.P.P., I can’t even put it into words, we despise people who are women beaters or anybody weh wahn touch wahn woman. And so, that is why Brother Wil felt, I am busy with trying to get the party its list, and Brother Wil said we can’t wait, we need to get out this press release. So I told him Brother Wil, go ahead and pen it, in the vain that we operate, go ahead and pen it so Belize understands we need to protect our sisters. I mean if we can’t protect our women, we’re lost as a society. So that’s why we felt the need to pen that release after what happened in San Pedro to another one of our females.”
