Farmers of the year chosen
They will be officially honoured this weekend at the National Agriculture and Trade Show, and today their names were released to the public. Gustavo Cardenas of Indian Creek in the Orange Walk District has been named farmer of the year. He is joined in the record books by Anita Chan of Bullet Tree Falls who won the title of woman farmer of the year and Julian Bul of Mullins River who earned the nod for junior farmer of the year. The judges also gave special recognition to Burton Caliz of Mafredi in Toledo and Lorenzo Bul of Mullins River. The National Agriculture and Trade Show opens Friday evening at the showgrounds in Belmopan.
