Pharmacist on Cocaine Charge Gets Bail

A man whose profession is to sell and advise patients on the safe use of legal drugs and medicines is out on bail for a charge of possession of almost three pounds of cocaine. Thirty-two-year-old Albert Requeña, a pharmacist of New Road in Belize City, was today granted bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars plus two sureties of five thousand dollars. He must also report to the Queen Street Police, cannot miss any adjournment date at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court is not to communicate with any Prosecution witness. Police charged Requeña after he was allegedly found carrying one point two six kilograms or just under three pounds of the white stuff on October tenth in a knapsack in Caye Caulker Village. Earlier that day, residents on the island notified Police of three individuals acting suspiciously, but when Police responded, they found nothing incriminating on them.  At the time, Requeña had on him a gun on him, but he had a valid license for the weapon.
