Suspect Detained for Murder of Guatemalan National in Santa Cruz Village

Humberto Ramos

Five days after his mutilated body was discovered inside on a bed inside a wooden shed at a block factory in Santa Cruz Village, a person has been detained for the murder of Humberto Ramos. The twenty-six-year-old Guatemalan national lived at his worksite and on the morning of October twenty-second, his co-workers would discover his body with multiple chop wounds to the head. Today, Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett told the media that charges will soon be levelled since the police are in possession of several items including a blood-soaked shirt and a machete, believed to be the murder weapon.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Police have since carried out an investigation and we have one suspect in our custody. Also a machete with blood stains was recovered along with a bicycle also with blood stains and a T-shirt that was soaked in blood was also recovered by the police. So it is expected that sometime later today, charges will be levelled against that person that we have in our custody.”
