Dr. Angel Campos and Other Driver Served with NIP
On Friday, we told you about how Doctor Angel Campos was behind the wheel of his government vehicle when he was involved in a road traffic accident just outside of Orange Walk Town. Campos’ vehicle was extensively damaged, but he escaped unhurt. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett told the media that Doctor Campos and the other driver, Manuel Leiva, have each been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Police were called to the By-Pass area of Orange Walk where they met and spoke with Angel Campos, Belizean member of the House of Representative and also on the scene was Manuel Leiva. What we know so far is that Mr. Campos was driving a white forerunner from a north to south direction where he collided into a white dodge nitro which was being driven by Mr. Leiva at the time. The vehicle that Mr. Campos was driving received extensive damage. As a result, an investigation is being carried out and notice of intended prosecution has been served on both drivers. No samples were taken by officers as both drivers seemed to have been of a sober mind at that time of the day.”
