Brother Les is Laid to Rest
Former minister of government and businessman Ainslie Leslie was laid to rest over the weekend in his hometown, San Ignacio during an official funeral. The COVID protocols were observed so the number of the participants was limited. Brother Les, as he was affected known, passed away last Thursday at the K.H.M.H. due to complications of the virus. He served in a ministerial capacity in government for two terms under the Musa Administration in 1998 to 2008, a period which saw a rolling out of many infrastructure and education projects. In the west, he was well-liked and described as a people’s man who crossed the political lines to reach out to residents. In eulogizing him, Minister Omar Figueroa and a former colleague and friend, Dan Silva described the nature of the man.
