ComPol Gives an Update on Escaped Prisoners
There are five escaped prisoners that are still on the lam and authorities believe that it is because they are getting help from relatives or members of the public. ComPol Chester Williams told the media today that they are actively looking for Carlos Montejo. Jaroud Lamb, Michael Faux, Enrique Martinez and Erwin Lanza. As you know, a group of twenty-eight prisoners escaped from the central prison exactly three weeks ago; a total of twenty-three have been recaptured and returned to the facility, while Akeem Tillett was shot and killed on the Coastal Road. ComPol Williams says that they continue to follow tips coming into police on the whereabouts of the remaining escapees.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“We still have five of those twenty-eight escapees at large. We continue to work along with the prisoner authority with a view to locate these individuals and return them to prison. Again, I want to call upon the public to pass on whatever information that they have to the police so that we can apprehend these persons and get them back in prison.”
Andrea Polanco
“Sir any tips forthcoming as to their location?”
Chester Williams
“Yes we do get tips now and then and we’d normally respond, but so far we have not been successful in finding them.”
Andrea Polanco
“You believe they may be getting help from family members, members of the public?”
Chester Williams
“Of course they are; they would not be able to survive out there this long. So it is clear that they are getting some degree of support from members of the public or family members.”
