Two Escapees Recaptured; Three More on the Run!

Two more prison escapees were captured over the weekend. Alleged master-mind of the prison break Carlos Montejo and Enrique Martinez were nabbed in the south. With those two in police custody, the three prisoners who remain at large are Jaroud Lamb; Michael Faux and Erwin Lanza. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett shared details of the latest captures.

“Acting on Intelligence, Dangriga Police carried out an operation in the Pomona area and they were able to capture two of those escaped prisoners namely Enrique Martinez and Carlos Montejo. Those were the only two who were found. They were taken into custody and will later be charged later today for the crime of escape.”

“Do you guys believe the remaining three are in southern Belize?”

“We are working on certain information and I don’t want to go into the details in order for us to have some success in recapturing the other three.”

“Do you believe they used the Coastal Road to get to southern Belize?”

“Could have been – that possibility hasn’t been ruled out as also you know there were a number of operations and patrols that area as well.”
