Labour and community leader dies in U.S.A.
He was a man who left a lasting impact on his community, his union and his nation. It is with regret that we report the death of Pablo Lambey. Lambey died in Los Angeles where he had been undergoing treatment for kidney failure since January. He was for many years a leading labour leader, heading the General Workers Development Union. Lambey was also active in the Garifuna community and in the early 90’s served as president of the National Garifuna Council. He worked as a member of the Human Right’s Commission and other organizations of civil society. Pablo Lambey was the father of nine children. He will be laid to rest on Saturday in Dangriga.
