Flooding May Prevent Voters from Heading to the Polls
As the flood waters recede in the Cayo, communities in Belize River Valley are experiencing flooding. Opposition Leader John Briceño says that the flooding can be a reason why voter turnout could possibly be lower compared to the last general elections in November 2015.

“Moving on to the issue of the flood, yes it is going to hurt. It is going to affect us but it is an act of God. There is absolutely nothing that we can do. We will encourage for those who can vote to still come out and vote but for those who are affected and are more concern of their well being and about their homes and property and family it is completely understandable that they have to look after their family first and we understand that.”
