Minister Kevin Bernard Prepared to Take On Ministerial Responsibilities
Today, we caught up with a number of ministers after they took the oath of office. Orange Walk East Area Representative Kevin Bernard is the new Minister of Youth, Sports and E-Governance. He is responsible for putting the youth of Belize first and to guarantee their growth and development. He is also tasked with developing sports and move more than ninety percent of government’s services to an online platform. Bernard says he is prepared for the task.

“Our target is to get government services digitize, at least ninety-five percent within the ten-year span. So I have a huge task ahead of me. I always say whatever capacity the Prime Minister placed me in, I will do my utmost best to ensure that I can deliver and I can achieve goals that we set out in those ministries. I know Youth and Sports are huge ministries in terms of the different sub-functions that it carries. This entire week, I will start to make my visits to the different sports council, meeting with the team there as well as engage with the various districts and municipal district councils.”
